Just done a 160 mile ride and the seat is too hard for me and my rear is still aching after 2 days
I had a SGT seat on my GS and that was perfect but they don't seem to make one for the S10, I see that Corbin do though.
Does anyone know of a UK company that can re-do the stock seat, and is anyone using the Corbin?

Cheers

Tony Archer in Huddersfield seems very popular on this site.

In the past I've used Custom Motorcycle seats at Coventry with mixed results.

Strangely enough, I still have my GS with a Sargent seat on it, and I find the standard Yam seat almost as comfortable.

Have you thought of the standard seat mod as shown on the Super Tenere forum?

Hope this helps

+1 for Tony Archer :thumb2

My Tenere seats will be going there if we don't like them, found standard GS seat a real plank so had TA modify a spare pair.

Gotta run up a few miles first and see how we get on.

I found the seat too hard to begin with but it seems to be breaking in now, still not great but did 3 1/2 hours yesterday and i got to a level of discomfort after about 2 1/2 but it didnt get any worse and was bearable, i didnt feel the need to stand up like i did on my gs. A harder seat is better and more supportive in the long run.

I sent the seat to Tony Archer on Monday, Tues morn they called saying it was done and I had it back for Wed :-)
I haven't ridden with it yet but when I sit on it it feels the same as before so maybe the gel will kick in on a longish trip.

Yesterday I did a 260 mile trip and the seat is no better, my arse was killing me on the last 60 miles down the M1.
Guess I'm gonna have to find another seat :-(
The only thing I miss from my GS is the SGT seat, I could go all day on that and often did ...

I did not get on with Gel, I will be getting a re-work with just some extra foam.

Had Gel on my ZZR and ended up having it re-worked with extra foam as it was no better IMO, although I think some arses like gel and others don't :nenau

The test ride I had on the ST10 revealed that it's seat was just as bad as the 12GS seat, about 50 miles and numb bum sets in. As far as gel seats, well, I've had experience on having two different bike seats re-done with gel and I honestly do not find they are any better with said gel. A bit of research and it appears that gel doesn't really have any great benefit except for cutting down on vibration creeping through.

I've just got a re-modelled seat done by Bradford M/C seat works. The owner doesn't recommend gel either, preferring different densities of foam. So far, it's better than the stock Versys seat, helped by the re-profiling, but I need a good long run to see if the overall comfort has improved.

I did want to buy a Sargent seat for the Versys (but the UK importer still hasn't got them listed even tho' they've been available in the States for over three months now) as the one I had on my 12GS transformed how long I could ride that bike.

Ive found the seat to be the most comfartable on any standard bike that ive ever had or rode in nearly 40 years:clap
Yet on the gs i had to have a sergent seat:augie

Gel luvvin arses

No man in his rite mind would want any gel on his arse let alone like it :blast :D:D:blagblah:D

Update...
I removed the rubber stops from the base of the seat (back) yesterday and went for a blast, the seat tilt was much better but still uncomfortable so I have ordered a Corbin seat which should take about 4-6 weeks to get here.
Will update once I have it.

I look forward to your response.

Like you, I had a Sargent on my 1150GS which was great. I'd like more comfort on the S10 for trips to Italy etc.

Are you ordering form Battestinis?

M&P quoted approx 10 to 12 weeks, Mark said he could getting 4 :-)

Mark quoted me the same time frame and I'd rather support a smaller family business than M&P should I decide to place an order.
