Thinking og Gerry Watts and other things "BMW Club" . . . .

Is anyone up for lunch at Katie's Tearooms near Dunkeld on Sunday 9th Dec ?

You don't have to be a BMW Club member - or even ride a BMW (though its unlikely that Al will be out on his R1 - wrong time of year :D ).

(Thinks . . . . I might give the 'K' an outing)

Bob.

It'd need to be a dry day, cos I'm a fairweather biker ;)

Al

Fixed it for you

Al :D

that was impressive, three minutes after Ronno sent his message...:augie....now either you know the URL off by heart or you have it saved as a favourite...what's that old naval quote....."women and sea-men don't mix"......:ymca

I'd like to take the credit, but all I did was Google: "Garfield subscription" and hit it first time......................:augie

Al :eek

Well, it turned out to be an 'OK' day and a few folks made it to Katie's Tearoom.

Cars won over bikes 4 -3.

Not a 'GS' in sight either (possibly 'cos I broke mine last night when putting the tank back on - the plastic 'quick connector' on the balance pipe broke :blast.

I have plated brass connectors with 'Viton' 'O' rings on the high pressure lines but the elbow connectors for the balance pipe are on 4-week order. Now to 'jury rig' the connections while I wait for the post :thumb).

So here are the bikes (I didn't photograph the cars :augie )

First up - My K1200GT:

Next, a rather nice, low mileage, K1100 LT SE.

And lastly - a CCM 644 "winter hack". The owner was heading for Glen Quaich, then along the South side of Loch Tay to Killin, then heading for Crieff. If I'd been on my 100GS I'd have taken that route too, its a great ride (but not on a 300 Kilo GT lump).

That's the first proper outing my 'K' has had since July - when I bought my 1150GSA. I had forgotten just how smooth, and effortlessly fast, it can be.

All this and not a 'Flying Buttress' in sight :D

'BumbleBee' and Dick Boyd were off to annoy Gerry Watts - I hope his recovery is going well.

Bob.

That's a bonny Seat Ibiza parked next to your K, Bob.
Might get it sprayed Mandarin next year. :augie:augie

Gerry's getting on fine. Looks a lot more comfortable in his own bed, plus he's getting up more, 'specially for those "essential" trips. He says thanks for all the best wishes he's received.
