So,... it was said that the TomTom RIDER would surface 3rd Quarter 2005... we're now well over the beginning of the Q3... *sigh*

On a positive note, the TomTom site now says "Currently not available through TomTom.com" at http://www.tomtom.com/products/category.php?ID=0&Language=1 So... whatever that means, it's still a change from "available soon"... *sigh*

Does anyone here have any news... Pondboy, did you get your hands on one..?

Cheeers! :grin

Pure speculation

But this image from TomTom's gallery shows several things, including Bluetooth receiver, a standard handsfree kit, and another cable with (I think) a four pole 2.5mm jack at each end:

I've fired off a question to their tech support to see if they can clarify what is what.

I just found a Dutch website selling the TomTom Rider, quoting deliver from "the middle of August". Price was 775 euros.

Just checking, does the rider use waypoints (or something similar) or not ?
Have you heard about a "new" garmin GPS, dedicated to motorcyles ? There are some persistent rumors around...

Seeing as I am readin mixed reviews about the 2720 I think I'll hold out for the TT Rider and see which suits me best. I have a feeling that it might be the TT Rider but we'll see. Just wish they would hurry their arses and get it to market.
