for FD oil changes. Apparently this has been confirmed in the last week by BMW. Up until now it's been 220ml for a refill but the new measurements are 200ml initially and 180ml for a change. Anyone in the UK substantiate this?

220

I filled my FD with said 220ml of oil 9k ago. I'll be changing it again in another 1k and will stick with the same measurement as it has been fine with no problems. Besides, surely 30ml wouldn't make too much of a difference in over-filling ? If it was going to have a detrimental effect, by rights I would have popped a seal or worse by now.

I put 220ml in and maybe an extra teaspoon sized dollop for luck. That was 50,000 miles ago.....

Any possibility the new specifications are for new bikes only, indicating there has been a change in the final drive itself? Could the internal volume have been reduced for example?

Put as much as you can in:thumb2

Great for keeping the rear tyre and brake pads lubed :thumb2
