The Ebbw Vale Moto GP

"Welsh news publication South Wales Argus has reported that Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has visited Wales to discuss the potential inclusion of the planned Circuit of Wales in Ebbw Vale in future seasons of MotoGP. The project is still in its early phases with a planning application still pending, yet Ezpeleta has already given his approval to the track which would be a purpose-built circuit with hotels, indoor dirt-track, academy, and all other facets of modern-day racing."

Jerez, Laguna Seca, Estoril, Le Mans and.........Ebbw Vale :blast

It would be good for the local economy and they can surely build a better track than Silverstone but..........it's wetter than monsoon season in Malaysia up there for 11.75 months of the year, the world's first covered Moto GP circuit anyone

Err, any more details than that link to the Arsecut?

Whereabouts in Ebbw vale do you think the circuit may be cos I'm fooked if I can think of anywhere suitable.?

As well as the rain outlined by another poster, he forgot to say that the rain up there is horizontal and will cut ya face if ya not careful.

Develop the Trevil? LOL

If you find out any more can you post it up as I'm intrigued, ( being an Ebbw Boy myself see)

My son sent me the link so no more details.

I went through Ebbw Vale last year somewhere and on the way out going towards Newport there is a huge area that's been laid flat, would it have been the old steelworks site? A good place to start? please take into account I don't have a clue:D

I think it would be a great place for track, it wouldn't be boring with the terrain and the weather, and you could always pop over to Festival Park for a cheap pair of jeans!

Can't be arsed to look at the link Doug, but I seem to remember this story being rolled out a year or two ago. I think the proposed site was up near the Tafarnaubach site between Ebbw Vale and Tredegar. If it ever happens I'll show my arse.

:D

It's going to be the other side of the 465 behind the Rassua ind est, saying it's in Ebbw Vale is a bit like Cardiff airport being in Cardiff.

If it does happen nobody will hold you to that last statement :D

Agree with Doug on that one! Good piece in MCN about it this week, they reckon should start working on it by July:augie and racing in 2015
Let's hope so!

Up behind the Rassau Ind Estate it's all boggy moorland and as bleak as a bleak thing.

Fekkin Local Rags don't half spout shite. Bet they've headlined "10,000 jobs created etc etc" too.

Argus? Arsewipe more like. MCN? Fekkin Dandy was better.
