This is a very interesting link from joelwisman on ADVrider. It really pays testament to the Rotax engines longevity and engineering!

He said that engine wasn't clean ...:eek: Unless it's been through a degreaser, after 11k miles it's as clean as a whistle...

Personally, I wouldn't go this far for a noisy idle though... it's need to be a lot rougher than that! Having said that, I remember the loaner F800S that I had from CW sounded like a diesel at idle...:augie

My wifes F650 single sounded terminal at 3500m, the rattling was just the same at 36000 when we sold it. Both our 800s rattle a bit but Im not worried, it seems to be a Rotax thing.
