The new BMW Navigator II GPS is here

Touch sensitive screen?,.....from the piccy it looks like it isn't anti-glare!

Glare

You can certainly see the reflection from the studio lighting, or they used a flash.

The actual production units have an anti-glare screen, which works very well, even in bright sunlight. It is also much more durable than the SP III screens, which were coated with a rather fragile 1/4 wave dichroic coating to reduce glare. Also, much to my pleasant surprise, the SP 26xx screens don't collect fingerprints, even though you need to use your finger to operate the screen.

The unit that was used in the photo above has a paper photograph placed over the screen, to allow the photographer to shoot the picture on an angle to the GPS and still have the map image show up clearly. You can infer this from the fact that the motorcycle is in a showroom, but the screen shows it going down a road... an American road at that.

Trip Button

Pthagonal has posted an image here which shows a "trip" button mounted on the RH grip cluster thing.

Could this be functional with the GPS?

Would that not be to shift between the trip and overall mileage on the RID/odometer/head-down display do-hickey thing?

Alternatively, BMW might have mastered warp drive. Perhaps you just programme in your destination coordinates and press the 'trip' button?
