The next East Anglia day out

I believe we are off to Wells for fish and chips. :D

If there are no other volunteers then I am happy to bimble along at the front; but it will be a leisurely ride and I will stick to the limits. I can find Wells no problem, but am not familiar with the location of any specific fish and chip shop.

Leisurely bimble is fine. If there are enough of us we can use drop-off so any heroes can start at the back, overtake most of the pack (safely) and then drop off at the next change of direction.

The only fly in the ointment is that I MAY be between bikes on Sunday. I am due to pick up my next bike on 25th, and I have just had a message saying someone may buy my Strom on Saturday. My 100GS is heading to its new home on Friday. I will keep folk advised on progress, and as a minimum I can share the Garmin route with people to go the back roads from Wally's to Thetford.

Cheers, :thumb

Is that Wells -on-sea as in near cromer ?

dxtans

BTW - I am joining at Thetford, just for the record.

I dont fully understand it but i think it's called "Wells-next-the-sea"

Must be a Nor-fuk thing:pullface Still you can call it what you like so long as there's fish & chips at the end of it:drool

Yes, it is a Norfolk thing (Norfolk and good, actually!); it's "next-the-sea" because the shore is about 3/4 mile from the town and 'on-sea' wouldn't have been right.

Big? He musta bin twetter stoon!

Hey Essex boy -just tag along, and all will become clear:augie
Soon as he gets out of Essex eh !!!!! Must be very confusing for you though !

We'll look after you, don't worry -will I recognise you on Sunday , or will you be wearing your Freddie Mercury disguise kit ? :ronno

Look forward to meeting up with everyone again, ....next the sea or not....:thumb

Thats the easy bit, they are all opposite the bike park. :D

Got a new plan as well. :green gri If we took a slightly different windy route up and were all nice and relaxed after our seaside lunch we could return along a more direct route and stop off at a few interesting little streams that could be, well, forded.

Just to have look.

Not

Just tiny little water splashes :D

Like this little stream............

Bike park?

I planned going up the A134,A1065,B1105 - I assume that this is the direct route from Thetford - I certainly ain't going fording because my shiny bike will get all grubby and dirty and that just would not do :D

Should we head up the beach road or stop at the quay?

I defer to you superior local knowledge.

I believe Boreham Services was suggested. I reckon meet there at 8:30 and leave shortly after. ukaloon was going to lead to Wally's. :thumb

I will be on the Strom, but not for long after as I feel a change in bike coming VERY soon...

if you chaps from the essex massive dont mind a man of kent joining in would i correct in guessing that boreham services are n.e. of chelmsford on the A12
if i get the the bike back together as it is all over the garage floor at the mo i might have a bimble up your way i'll be the fat twat on the red 1100:D

All are welcome. Yes, Boreham services are the ones to the northeast of Chelmsford. You should not be able to miss the bunch of shifty chaps lurking there. And as for being a fat twat, you will fit in nicely. :augie
