The origin of Telelever

So who are curious: Telelever first made in '70s by Norman Hossack for racing purpose. But first put on streetsbikes on BMW:

When i look those, the older one is rather Duo-Lever right?
 
I had a K1200R on loan last weekend, when I showed it to the wizened old mechanic bloke at my favourite bike shop he said "that front end is from a Vincent Shadow" :D
 
Vincent had a very similiar system working against a friction damper. Just a progression from well established engineering principles. Nothing new in the world!
