Hello All...

I'm from Taunton in Somerset so don't know much of Wales, I did do a short blip from Monmouth to Chepstow the other day, was very nice.

Any who I am going to Silverstone tomorrow to do a bit of driving, and instead of driving (yes, in the car) home along the M4 etc I was going to take a massive detour into your fabulous country.

I am partial to a bit of photography, so my question is are there any areas in east / south eastern corner of Wales that might be worth visiting?

Cheers, Ben

Assuming you took the A466 from Chepstow to Monmouth along the Wye Valley, there is an alternative route, know as "over the top" locally. It is the B4293 that runs via Trellech. There are some excellent views at a number of points along this road.

If you like castles then there is a good one at Raglan.

Some fine mountains near Abergavenny: Blorenge, Skirrid & Sugar Loaf. They look spectacular this time of year if you can catch them at sunset.

Thanks for that Wessie

We were driving through some town (with the TomTom on "shortest route") and noticed an R1200 with a massive yellow fluro sticker on each side of the rear end, anyone you know :-)
