Recipe :-

1. Take 1 MRA 2-piece screen.
2. Take 1 standard GS1150 Tobers extender kit.

3. Place MRA in full front position, extended to fullest height (so the GS looks like a Praying Mantis).

4. Apply Tobers attachements to yield 45 deg angle so screen is pushed out and forwards (now the bike looks really tall and weird from the front).

5. Ride in any weather, at any speed, and at any angle incident to the wind :-

RESULT = much lower noise, buffetting virtually eliminated.

Cautionary measures:

+ Anyone shorter than 5'10" will need to look sideways as you'll be looking through a tinted screen otherwise.

+ Bike looks a tad worrying from the front.

+ Little bit of draught onto the visor from the now significant gap between screen and front bashplate.

PS: may need to sell my other screens now !

Got a pic Alex?

Yes show us I've got the MRA screen it would be good to see how it looks.

Also how tall are you, I am 6'2 and get zero buffeting on tallest setting and middle rake. But I do get a constant stream of air on my chest.
I tried it on the forward position on the rake and it was all right up to 50mph but after that the buffeting was trying to remove my head so after trial and error I found middle was best for me.

OK. Bit of a blizzard here at the moment but I will take a pic and post it asap !

Darn - me secret's out ! I did a collage for an "arty" purpose a while ago and have never got round to taking it down - it covers a hole in the wall ! And I've never owned a HD ever.

Can I see over it ? Yep - only just but well enough. It's surprisingly quiet and un-windy behind it - don't know why but it just takes away all the turbulence and helmet bashing.

I'm 5' 10" but one of those riders with a long torso so I get away with it.

Hobbit - no problems really. I'm happy to go with it as it cuts out the buff - buff - buffetting and I can live with the rest. It certainly attracts some funny looks as I ride down the road though and I can see straight into Land Rover Discovery's and vans with no problem at all. And that's with the riders' Wunderlich low-seat conversion too.

Give it a whirl. Might work for you too.

Well, you get a little bit of wind but nothing that I found disturbing especially with a low roughage diet.

Seriously, it's OK and anything's better than the bloody infernal buffeting I used to get. It's weird and clunky but I admit it fits the weirdness of the bike and I do like it.

The Tobers solution isn't really rocket science but it does work after a fashion - or should I say by taking more fashion away from what little it had in the first place. T'is my ugly duckling and I love it.
