1) Its F***** heavy when it falls on you for the first time

OOWWWWWW

2) dont have 2 motorcross wheels stapped to the top of the top box and then go to tnt to pick up 2 new rear wheel hubs and put said package on the top. It "just" goes past its balance point on the side stand and causes said point 1.

3) dont try and prevent point 1 from occuring by placing yourself in its way. It doesnt work.

To late for that one :(

Off work for two weeks with a wrenched back after trying to pick up my fully loaded ADV with a disc lock still atatched

Kin heavy indeed

Jon :)

doh.. still at least you cheered me up mate. Mine wasnt quite so embarrasing :augie

I stopped at a B&B in Dover last Sept. - fully loaded 1150GSA with a 20mm extended side stand foot.

The ground was sloping in two directions so I got off carefully and tested it on the sidestand - it seemed stable so I went to help a pal who had a problem with his KTM . . . . . .

About five mins later my bike went over the sidestand, and naturally the screen hit a wall :blast (scratched but not broken).

We picked it up and I went to move it only to find that the fuel gauge was reading zero :nenau

I realised later that all the fuel had slowly drained into the left hand lobe - which was beyond the sidestand's point of contact - that's all it took to topple it  (I had about 1/3 of a tank when I stopped).

Something else to remember next time :thumb2

Question is - will it survive my learning curve :augie
