Forgive me if it’s old news, as I am not really up to speed with all the tablet malarkey.

Considered T665 as a replacement for my £110 rugged Ulefone Armor5 as the battery is getting temperamental after 4 or 5 years. Can't see how what is a fairly basic Chinese phone, albeit with a custom bike mounting/charging arrangement should cost over 500 quid?

Bought new Ulefone Armor5 for £70 instead as it does what I need for a lot less. I'll keep the old one for backup.

The app is very good, use on any Android device or go down the route of buying their own tablet or phone offerings..pay as much or as little as you want !

This does seem to have huge potential.

DMD2 app on Samsung Active 3 Tablet with Ram mount with built in charger, all bought for less than £200, also with option to use BT handle bar controller

Yes I’m currently using a Samsung Active 3 Tablet with the DMD2 app, I also have the OSMand and OS maps on it, seems to work very well. 👍

Can you elaborate a little more ?

I'm looking at this particular tablet now and assume that this is the rugged mount with built in charging ?

The more I use their app the more I like it, and it's likely to be the setup I'm going to go with...certainly won't miss Garmin !

I recently purchased the Carpe Iter V4C (exact same unit as Thork racing), as I was sick of the problems with Garmin. I’ve had 4 replacement nav VI’s in 3 1/2 years and all suffers from screen ghosting. 1 of them straight out of the box! Experience so far with the Carpe Iter is positive. As it’s a tablet you can have your choice of navigation apps. Although Carpe Iter device is Android and I am an iOS user it was easy to get used to. The other thing I will say is that the software is a little dated but the doesn’t really make the device a bad experience. As I said, I’m not an Android user but I think the latest software update was to A15 whereas the Carpe Iter only just updated to A13. The screen is really responsive and is a good upgrade from the V4B model. Dual charging with pogo pins and an M8 connector. I had the Bluetooth module fitted (other options are available but did not fit with R1250GS Adventure switch gear, check your bike first) and it works from my wonderwheel as the Garmin did. Fully ruggedised and waterproof to IP67
