Tank covers, I’ve seen them on peoples bikes, I have no idea what they are made of or were they come from but I wants one. Can someone steer me in the right direction.

Baglux make the best tank covers, costing about £75-100 and most dealers can supply or have a look in MCN for the UK importer

You may be refering to the Baglux tank bag system which uses a tank cover specific to each motorcycle, including the GS, onto which various style of Baglux tank bag can be attatched. They are certainly top bits of kit often available in colours complementary to the bikes colour scheme.

Many thanks Mister Boxer; would you happen to have any web address's, if you don't no problems, as you have put me in the right direction.

Many thanks again.

Very nice indeed, it really makes your bike look the part. When 9.00am comes along I thinks I might do some telephoning and purchase one of those much needed tank covers.

You want Baglux UK at sales@baglux.co.uk

they are on 01745 823333

bagster.com and www.baglux.co.uk are the sites and please mention the UG GSer ( GS Club) site when you talk to them as their service tosome of us over the last few weeks has been brilliant.

Yep, but apart from the aesthetic reason, why can't we live without???
Doesn't water and humidity get trapped between the thing and the tank?

Carbold

Nope, its a snug fit, you polish the tank first and then leave it, its not a cover by the way its a harness for the baglux tank bag, some tanks are not magnetic.
Its very secure and any of the baglux bags can be hitched on, the tank protection is a by product.

small drops saves paintwork
easy way to fit tank bag
looks good(?)
stops the zip on my coat scratching the paintwork
they are really well made

only modification is cutting off the made in france label (:blush )

Skip,
If you look at my thread "Clearout" in the For Sale section I have one for sale. Theres even a picture of it on the bike later down the thread and its a bargain price too.

I must admit like paragon I thought tyhey were awful at firsst but once fitted it stayed on throughout the summer even when the bag was not fitted. It protaects the tank from any small scuffs as well.

have Fun

Sorry chaps, but i think the baglux looks 'orrid...really cant see the point in adding all that weight for so little gain.....just cant understand why anyone would want one!!!

Bloody horrible aren’t they, (tank covers that is) - they look just like what they are - a cheap plastic "tea cosy"

They are the ultimate “naf” accessory

I cannot think of anything worst - the sight of a baglux tank cover just "turns my stomach" - Ug

Hope I haven’t offended anyone – well maybe, I hope, that is

Para

I disagree............one of the best accessories to have on a GS..................to save tank from damage and the Baglux Mapcase is simply fantastic...............just right for Michelin maps.............with this set-up .................who needs a GPS.........
