Location
Vienne, France. The sunny bit.
............. because the sun had finally made an appearance.

I left home and rode the 60 kilometres to meet up with Andy at Le Dorat at 10.00 on Tuesday for the ride down to 'Chateau Lawrence' near Albi.

Saw this timely reminder of the dangers of being on the hard shoulder of the Peage when an inattentive lorry driver comes hurtling past. It was protecting a broken down vehicle with all its lights flashing etc, but still wasn't seen

Arrived at 'le chateau' around 4 pm and was made most welcome by Lawrence and the 'girls'. They prepared us a feast of chicken, salad and garlic which was very welcome after the ride down.

10 o'clock Wednesday saw us on the road with Lawrence leading us through some pretty amazing twisties and all the while the sun was shining- at last.

Mazamet and the Black Mountain - a must visit.

We arrived at the campsite in Lezignan-Corbieres mid-afternoon, tents up, coffee on, and settled in.

Tried the snack bar on the campsite but their idea of a snack was a fixed bloody menu so we didn't bother.

Thursday morning and we rode down to Gruissan for the usual coffee and croissant. What was not so usual was the cost, 18 euros for three coffees, croissants and small orange juice

After Gruissan we headed down the coast to Port Nouveau for lunch. Andy and me had Moules-frites and Lawrence enjoyed a huge steak.

Did a bit of food shopping on the way back and cooked up some lovely eggs & bacon for tea.

Decided after looking at the forecast to return home a day early (cloudy and not so hot) so Friday morning saw us packed and mobile by 0800 hours. Said our goodbye to Lawrence and off we went.

Left Andy at Limoges when I went left and he went straight on, and got home at 1600 hours, 573 kilometres, tired but still smiling.

The weather was great, the company even better.

Andy has a new nick-name but I'm too much of a gentleman to repeat it on here.

Gary.
