1. What kind of bulb is the parking light?
2. Is there a cheaper alternative to the carbon master cylinder guard, if so anyone got one they would like to get rid of?
3. What's wrong with my bike, went for a spin on Sunday with two pals one on a Suzuki DRZ400SM the other on a Kwak 500 KLE. Both left me for dead struggling to hit 70mph. The bike sounds fine but where has all my power gone?

Is there a cheaper alternative to the carbon master cylinder guard, if so anyone got one they would like to get rid of?

Buy a BMW 1150GS guard. Only slight modification. See pic.
Try looking at the 1200GS guards - they might fit better

Sounds like you need to reset you throttle parameters.
From memory (so you'd better check on the 650 site) undo and reconnect battery, turn ignition on, wait 10 seconds, twist throttle from fully closed to fully open three times, spin clockwise four full circles standing on your left leg. Hey presto , should be sorted
Do you ever start your bike with a slightly open throttle? That can bugger things up. Only ever start it on a closed throttle.

Change air filter and wash the thermocouple that sits in the intake snorkel. These get really dirty in the winter. I saw a huge change in power when I did this last time. As for the parking light, it is a standard automotive bulb. I got one in my phillips lamp kit.

Bulb sorted got a rather nice blue LED one
Just need to sort my slow bike out now
