Ok Chaps

I might be out of my depth here. I have just received two throttle body overhaul kits for my 1100GS. All looks ok except for one thing. How the hell do I remove the old butterfly bearings from the cases of the throttle bodies? I can’t work it out.

…..HELP

where did you get your kits from?

Contact ralph

I called Bing and there put me in contact with Ralph Engelbrecht ralph.engelbrecht@freenet.de. I sent him some money (about £80) and he sent me two kits which has everything in it. shafts butterflies bearings springs etc etc I will post some pics of the kits today. Sending money was a bugger and expensive Ralph is in Germany, but he sent them PDQ.

Still need to know how to get the old bearings out.

I could go for e bay units but I need this bike as perfect as I can afford, Don’t want anyone else’s problems. I know about scriminger and have spoken to Steve about doing the work.

Both TB;s where ticking like a old 2nd world war bomb and have lots of wear in the shafts.

"the Shed" has now a new final drive, clutch and a GSA tank, new Alt belt, I have the Gearbox to overhaul and the sub frame strengthened. Have ordered Verns panniers and had to replace all the engine/frame studs

Still need a seat that we can both stand (or sit) for over two hours on. Brakes need sorting and I need TT hard parts......:tears

still I know it will be done right and hopefully will do its job for the next year.

Anyway thanks again chaps

Dont hold your breath.......

mmmm pics, I will try but not good at it, In case i cant the kits have the shaft with cable cam, butterfly with the screws, two bearings (for the shafts) springs, all the seals, spacers and circlips. no big brass screw or vacuum cover. I think its every thing you need to bring them up to code.

The hard part is removing the old bearings see above post, I have tried on a old TB which I have and its a right bugger.

Will try and do the pics.
