Throttle Locks

Has anyone any experience of throttle lock ()cruise control) on the 12GS? Any ideas which is best and where I can get it from?

Wunderlich has a cruise control but don't how it is working and if it is the best one;

Had no problems with fitting took about 15 minutes

Great, less than 3 mins to install (on a 1200)
Works on a 'wheel ' principle, clockwise screws tighter, and vice versa.
That's about as simple as any part can get near enough!

Throttlemeister is an Americian company simple idea rotate to lock can set and leave throttle,great on motorway bought from Salt Lake Bmw look at their web site
search for salt lake bmw on browser then throttlemeister on their site

I rate the Kaoka as its very easy to use. Once 'bought' the Wunderlich item, tries it on one ride and returned it as being very difficult to operate.

The Adventure Workshop will post to the UK and are very nice people to deal with.

I have a Kaoka fitted to mine. Fitted in 5 minutes. Use it this weekend on a trip upto the Scottish Borders. After a recent right shoulder operation i wanted to be able to move the arm and shoulder around from time to time !! and works just great on the open motorways etc.

Bought from Kaoka in South Africa, delivered by courier in about 5 days.

I marked the bitting point with some white paint to make it easy to adjust and also for safety.

Just turn on the heated grips to no 2 works on mine throttle locks solid can cruise for miles !! bit of a bummer in traffic though??????????

I like the idea BUT the prices, both Wunderlich and from SA are a bit steep; I fitted one to my R100RS 25 years + ago. It was a BMW part, very simple, and it cost not much over £5. I notice that Moto-Bins still supply them at £6.87 - but of course it is necessary to have something much more sophisticated for a 'modern' GS.
(I have to say, though that the throttle on my 1200GS is light and does not really pose any problems - here we 'salute' with the left hand anyway.) Brian

I have one of those palm ocker things on my 1200 , vast improvement on a trip , takes a bit of fiddling to get setting right but once there ( slight upward pressure under pad of hand at tickover works for me. Cost about £4. 95p I think from M&P Bargain!!!!!!!!!! Mike.
