Do I adjust the throttle stop screw on both crabs (bing type)untill I get the tick over correct or is there more to it. My hand book for the bike says there should be a small gap betwween the throttle stop screw and the linkage :augie

I usually scratch me crabs then dose them in olive oil..kills the feckers instantly :thumb2

Re Bing Carbs, yup adjust them both for a nice tickover so the charging light is just flickering ( when hot )..or 900 rpm if your tight on fuel :) Remember about 2 -3 mm of slack in the cables when doing this :thumb2

Hi

Make sure the carbs are warm before trying to adjust them. Check that there is 2mm or so of slack in both cables on both carbs.

Adjust each throttle stop screw to get a smooth tickover. I prefer to use a carb tune to ensure that I get the balance between the two sides right, but others prefer using their ear.

Once the throttle stop screws are right then adjust the throtle cable to give an equal amount of slack so that the bike picks up smoothly from idle. I check this with the carb tune as well.

At idle the linkage should touch the throttle stop screw. If it doesnt you haven't got any slack in the throttle cables!.

Adjust idle screws, then mixture screws, then finally idle screws again :thumb

Know what you mean about the crabs:blast.

My red charging light stays on untill the revs reach 1200 rpm.(new 400 watt alternator fitted) thats why I need to have higher tickover ::nenau
