I was hoping to have the wheels rebuilt on my 99 1100,however at this time the price for a rebuild is not do-able.

Anyone successfully refurbed their spoked wheels,or anyone any good ideas ? The rims are fairly good and will clean up nicely but the chromed spokes are fairly rusty.

I appreciate that it might not be a option in the short term but from personal experience, Doug at the Devon Wheel Company does a great job. Sure it's not the cheapest option but he is good.

Do what I have done to my R80Gs sand the spokes smooth, then paint them silver,

Some time in the future I will have a go at rebuilding them myself, using stainless spokes, but they are not a top priority at the moment!

Gonna have mine shot blasted and powder coated.I,ve seen em done and they come up a beaut.

Is that just the spokes or spokes, rims, hub, the lot?

If everything, can they all done as one item?

Yeah, sounds good, especially the satin black.

One problem with getting the whole wheel powdercoated in one hit is that spoked wheels have a certain amount of flex built into them and this can cause the join of spoke and rim and spoke and hub to crack the powdercoating and water to get in with its usual problems.

As ahebron above.
Powder coating the whole lot is a bodge and will only look good short term. Long term, water will creep underneath the inevitable cracks in the coating as the wheels flex and corrode unseen.

Fully agree guys but £50 powder coated or £500+ stainless spoked rebuild, for me personally on a 14 yr old 80k 1100 its a no brainer.I,ll take my chances.

Rebuilt the wheels on my Transalp with new powder coated rims and stainless spokes a few years ago - exactly what MattW and ahebron mentioned occurred and water must have got under the coating where the spokes go through rim. Looks crap now and won't be making that mistake again.
I have thought about doing something with my 1150GS wheels as the spokes particularly are kind of rusty, and considered replacing spokes one at a time with stainless ones. Probably a tedious job if it can even be done at all, but was only a thought ;)
