Time for a change

Well I think the time has come for a change.
Had my F700GS since May last year and have not really taken to it, maybe it's the corrosion issues or maybe it's how it rides, can't put my finger on it but we have just grown apart, felt the same way with my first wife.

Went to my local triumph dealer Monday and have been negotiating hard since then, I have now a very good offer on the table.
Only £699 less than I paid for it a 9 moths ago and a few extras chucked in on top of the bits that Triumph are already offering, topbox and fixings, heated grips and large screen.
I also have a dealer matching the offer and they also offer a third year extention to the warranty for free as long as you get it serviced with them.
So got a ride booked for Monday and will then make my mind up, now all I have to do is choose the colour, black, white for blue.

What Triumph are you aiming for?
Just curious.
You know, for those of us that have had one of these things for awhile, I've got a 2009 F650GS, BMW did make some decent improvements to the bike
with the F700. I have always believed the platform for the F bikes (motor, frame) was brilliant but they could have invested some more time in making the
bike more service friendly like the old 1150GS models. Having to replace an entire fuel pump (or bodge together an aftermarket and then an external filter)
because they will not sell you just the filter is a pain in the arse, same goes for the design of the alternator which makes it a weak point. They took care
of one Achille's heel with the redesign of the fuel pump controller, but some people still report bearing issues. Now, the new F700's have had problem with
switchgear and moisture. Shame that is.
Hope you enjoy your new bike! A brand new bike always gets anyone excited.
I know you probably will never miss the damned seat, how any company could design something like that is beyond me.

Hey, sounds like you're getting a pretty sweet deal there! I haven't ridden the F700GS, but did have a go on the F800GS and kinda have to agree with you. It ticks all the right boxes, but just feels kinda bland. Good luck with the new ride!

Well it's raining hard and a bit windy but I have just sat down with a cup of tea and have a huge grin on my face.
That's because I have just returned from my visit to my local Triumph dealer, I borrowed there Tiger 800 for about an hour.
God I have missed that Triple engine, very smooth, good power and lovely noise.
So much more power than my F700GS.
It just gave me the rider and machine together feeling that I don't get with the BMW
So I ordered a black one and will pick it up on 4th march! can't wait.

I was dealing with bridge in Exeter and Total Triumph Taunton, as I live in Taunton I bought it from Total Triumph, but if you buy a bike from Bridge and service there, they will give you a life time warranty, as I only ever keep my bikes 2 years it had no value to me.

I find my 800gs too tall, and too top heavy (I'm 5 11) but its a great alrounder - had mine four years, 36k miles. however, I would swap it for a 1200gs in a heartbeat, which i find better balanced. But the triumph, i dont know, its not a looker imho - personal taste i guess. (dont get me wrong, i always loved the tiger) and you pay through the nose for that triumph badge. and their service sucks (at least it did when I had a £10k 2000 Daytona). i'll never go back to triumph for that reason alone. Good luck with it anyway....

Started to take the bits off my bike now and put them on ebay.
So if anyone is interested, there are
HAND GUARDS
GENUINE LOW SEAT
MODIFIED TALLER SCREEN.

Thanks for all the chats over the last 9 months and I have really enjoyed reading about all your epic trips and ramblings....
