I am trying to remove the timing case on my '86 R80g/s.

I have removed the 9 bolts and all the electrical gear as per the Clymer manual.

The problem is the bloody thing is feckin' tight!

I hace tried heating the area around the crankshaft, and by hitting the case at the top with a soft mallet it will rotate axially a very small amount.

There are 3 other bolt heads of a larger size which seem to run through the case, but not used to attach it. I presume these a for the tensioner?

The engine is still in the frame.

Any advice appreciated.

Damien.

I got it sorted, 3 nuts with an internal hex holding it on too.
Found it on Real/OEM.
