Tip: Valve Cover Strip Security

I found this tip on the Internet and have already implemented it on my own GS.

As the text is German, I'll translate: drill two holes next to where the sparkplug cable enters under the valve cover strip and fix the cable with a Ty-Rap to the valve cover strip.
Tip: If you heat a screwdriver the width of a Ty-Rap in a flame and press it in the right place you don't need to 'drill' a hole. Five minutes work and no more chance of losing your 'valve cover strip'.

Very nice, but I've drilled a small hole through the top lip of the cover and use a loop of thin safety wire which the plug lead passes through. Totally invisible when on the bike.

Me too,done mine years ago use the smallest cable tie you can buy drilled two small holes in the back of the cover sorted.Andy

So I fcuked up my valve cover strip....:( ...dang!
