Hi,

Someone i know has bouught a 10year old, 22K miles F650.

We noticed a few things and wondering if anyone can assist??

At around 70-75mph constant speed there is a slight surging of the bike - fuel injection issue?

At the front of the head is a very slight oil leak...normal/know issue?

Near the suspension adjuster is a black rubber hose with a bung in it... is this something to do with the oil tank?

The LH exhaust can is not discoloured and has a tiny exhaust hole that hardly anything comes out of....... whats the purpose of the second end can on the single?

Anything special to look for on these bikes?

Many thanks for assistance :thumb

if it's the single spark they did have surging issues

sounds like the airbox drain, take the bung out every now and again to drain the airbox

the left hand pipe is the cat and not much does come out of it

there's loads of info for the F650 on www.f650.co.uk and http://faq.f650.com/main.html

From personal experience:

The tube with the bung is the airbox drain - You might find you get oil out of this if you remove the bung. Don't worry just let it drain into something. Do it every month or so.

One can contains the catalytic converter and runs hotter than the other, which is simply a silencer, hence the difference in discolouration.

:beerjug:

EDIT: Too slow again

...and discoloured RHS can picture from my 650GS :tears ..where are you now?
