The BMW 1150gs Technical Booklet says front tire should be 110/80 R19. My tire dealer has fitted a front Tourance 100/90 R19. Is this OK or will the front handle poor.

WTF did he do that, I reckon it's always best to stick to what the book says...

It looks like he has done it to a few bikes. To me it feels like the bike wants to drop into the corner to fast. I thought the Tourance was a shit tire because of the way the bike went in the corners. I'm going back to the tire dealer.

Just shows you have to check what these so called tire dealers are fitting to our bikes.

My front TKC 80 is the correct size 110/80-r19

Narrower tyre will speed up the steering & will make it feel less stable. Wider tyre will have the reverse effect.

I'd take it back & demand a new tyre of the correct size. Is it a case of him selling what he happens to have in (old?) stock or does he have a reason for fitting the narrower tyre?

Oddly enough I got the same size fitted in Nice this year....an anakee.

Monsiuer le Grenouille did look it up in his book though- even pointed it out to me as I stod there, so I know it said that size there.

Mebbe the manufacturers list different sizes in different countries for some odd reason?

Bizarre.
