Help! I've a 09 1200gs with autocom active rider powered from a BMW spliced lead to the aux socket and a Kenwood Tk-3101 through an autocom PTT. The problem: Battery only - no problems Rx or Tx. Engine running - Rx OK. Radio stops transmitting, with flashing red, after 8 secs!! I've tried 2 radios and powering radio direct from the battery with no improvement. Any ideas?

Thanks Oldrat, I suspect you are right. Further work has shown that: it's not the wiring (falt occurs on 2 different wiring options, including direct to the battery), it's not the radio (tried 2), it's not the Active Rider (tried 2) but interestingly all is fine with an active 7 unit!!! I will check the voltage with the engine running today.

Suspect that one of your mates modded the radio to stop you blathering all over the ether! :blagblah

Alternatively, the Autocom units you mention don't provide power for radios - you would need a separate source. :(

See Ebay for a car power adaptor and cut the plug off! :thumb2

Amazing Reckless, it's as if you have been gifted with a sixth sense!!!! :thumb

The kind man at Autocom informs me that the Active-Plus is not 'active' to the grey 'bike to bike' lead :blast

Interestingly, my Active 7 Smart does power the radio from the grey lead.

Ho hum

New to this but, having just got a new radio I saw a feature called TOT (Time Out Timer) which selects how long you can transmit for, has it been set too low?

Nice idea turning the wifes down, or maybe she might turn mine down!!!!
