Anybody know if I can fit TKC80 tyres to my 2004 F650 dakar without replacing the standard chain guard/rear wheel cover?
Yes you can. 
But the various "lighter" alternatives will be easier to clean if you're going off road. Similarly the front sprocket cover gets well clagged up - take it off and clean it regularly (or get one of the alternatives).

I've not had the tk's on the F650 personally but ive used the metzeler karoos which are similar without any issues.

Thanks, I'll get some TKC's sorted.
If you are going for TKCs to off road, it's well worthwhile investing in the TT front sprocket guard and a chain guide. At normal tighness the chain tends to stretch like chewing gum. Run it a little looser without the chain guide and it'll come off the rear sprocket regularly.
