OK, I've bitten the bullet after (way too) much procrastination, and bought the Ztechnik screen for the 1150 Adventure. I was assured by the guys at custom cruisers that it would fit, as they checked with the manufacturer in the states - however they were (all) wrong.

So after a chat with Simon at Bahnstormer, he reckoned that I need the standard GS monuting bits to allow the screen to fit the Adventure, so I'm now in a position where I have the screen, I have the tobinators, I have the extra mount bits for the screen, it's on the bike and I'm ready to ride.

Now the screen is pretty damn close to the tobinators, and it's going to be difficult to adjust the Tob's once it's in place and all tightened up. Not to mention that the screen will also get scratched to hell.

So my question to you guys who have this setup is - what is the best starting position. General suggestions, and / or pictures would be excellent. I've seen a few pictures on the web when using my friendly search function, but they're not clear enough to make any kind of guess.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

PS the guys at Custom Cruisers were extremely helpful, and quite surprised / upset that the screen doesn't fit. Obviously they were going to take it back, but with the extra bits there is no reason to send it back. Also Simon at Bahnstormer deserves a mention, not only for knowing what he was talking about, but also for keeping me informed about the delivery of the parts. These are two companies that have provided what I would call 'good service' even though the process wasn't simple and straighforward, I'm still a happy customer.

just an update.

Finally got out to try to set up the Ztechnik screen. I'm quite impressed with the scren itself, solid, well made and quite a nice (if large) shape to it.

I couldn't find a sweet spot with the tobinators, so I need more test runs.

However I did try the screen with the standard GS mounts and no :blast tobinators, Boy what a difference....... 70-80mph resulted in blurred vision, headache and nausea. I can't say that I've felt this bad, since before the tobinators were fitted.

So they're back on the bike, and I need to find that spot - looks like I'll just have to ride more.

So all I can say is "three cheers for Saint Tobin" :beerjug:
