Question for Tobers since I can't PM him.

Got and fitted a set of Tobinators for my 1200GS. Works brilliantly set 3 down on the front and highest on the back - no buffeting and reduced wind noise. But right hand part and black hinge bit keep trying to work themselves loose (the hinge bit is coming out of the bike bracket). It easy to push back in after a ride but just a little worried that the black hinge bit might manage to detach itself from the bike mounting at speed possibly with brown adrenalin results. Have you a solution or have you considered linking your two machined parts together (an H shaped part)? It would prevent my problem + might add ridgidity to the whole screen system.

Just an interested but v. happy customer!

had the same problem after fitting mine but very easily solved by putting a tie wrap through both slots in the ally brackets and pulling them together. I may be imaging it but I also think this has helped to reduce the vibration of the screen when stationary

Just back from a trip round Ireland - pics etc to follow....

Indeed, the little black things are a bit of a pain. Try removing them then wrapping some PTFE tape around them and reinserting them. This should make them seat more tightly into the hole and stop moving around.

Glad they are working!

Had considered tape and/or wire locking but it's not a particularly elegant solution - especially considering the trouble gone too in machining the bits in the first place. I know a tame but talented engineer (makes one off parts for aircraft flight testing) who I might ask to fabricate a moded tobinator - if Tobers doesn't mind!

I have a solution involving a threaded bar through the tube thingy at the front, with nice machined ends onto which the Tobinators bolt. It eradicates the black bits completely. Waiting for my pals @ Wunderlich to make some up.

Fitted Tobers today…………

Front: 6 down from the top, Back: (black bits) highest setting.

I am 6ft 5in Tall, seat on highest setting.

Buffeting all but gone, excellent bit of kit.

Hope this helps the "tall" GSER's

fitted mine this week as well.... well pleased with the look, function and quality of them.. can't comment on what kind of difference they make to buffeting since I've been away on business since the day I installed them and haven't been able to get out for a test ride...

my only concern is that on the settings I had them on, back 11 down from highest and front about 4 down from top, the screen seriously effected the turning ability of the bars... the hand guards were bashing into the screen long before full lock...

anyone have a solution of alternate setting to get around this problem?...

Switch out the black plastic pivot pins with the Touratech metal ones. "Windshield Hard Part" 044-0380. Holds better to the Tobinators and looks more finished too.
