I'd be interested in forum opinion as to whether the use of tobinators has led to electrical problems with the instruments or lights. My 04 came with them fitted and whilst they certainly made the ride more comfortable with less wind noise etc, I did notice that they left the clocks exposed to our variable weather.

Any one had any problems..possible cause of headlight bulb failure perhaps?

oops..actually posted a reply yesterday.. but seem to have screwed it up:blast

anyway, my bike is sat outside my office window so I had a look at the light and clocks, they look pretty much sealed so I don't think torbinators or even removal of the srceen would effect their leakability.. Rain can pretty much get in anyway. I ride in tropical monsoon weather and "touch wood" have not had water problems. Believe me when it rains here it rains. Frankly i think there is more chance of condensation being a problem is you maybe park in a warm garage and have very cold temperatures outside that you ride in.

Your bulb was probably a fluke, if you are worried just use some bath type sealent.

You didn't screw up I inadvertently entered the thread twice :o

Thanks for the advice

Never had a problem on my 04 with tobinators and it was ridden in all weathers.

Front headlight bults can blow quite regularly. If water had gotten into the light pod, you'd expect to see some evidence of this on the electrical connectors, which would turn green.
