I have borrowed a TOM TOM rider 2

we are going on a 2 week trip and one of the guys , a sat nav guru has done a route plan for each day

He has sent me the daily route to add to the TT
The routes are all seperate files

I can open them with tyre OK

I click the download route to TT in Tyre ..OK

Tyre tells me they have been sent.. OK

TT tells me they are installed ... OK

BUT WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY !!

I can not find them in TT

my question is how do I call then up ?
and change the name to day 1 day 2 day 3 etc ?
where are they stored ?

It must be some where in ITINERARY

wasted an hour of my life last night

Tyre to Tom Tom

Hello, I've had this problem. So now, I move them manually. I save the Tyre files on my computer, then connect the TT to the computer via USB.

Then look in "computer" for the TT, and click on it.

You will find a place in TT called ITN files.

I then move the files from the computer into ITN files, and hey presto, when I turn on the TT, I can find them under Itineraries.

Click on "options" in the centre at bottom of screen. Probably best to "delete itinerary first, to remove the last itinerary.

Then lock on "new itinerary" and select the one you want.

To rename them, do this on your computer rather than on the TT.

I can now get the route from tyre into the bastard TT

when I go to itinerary up comes all the waypoints for day 1

If go to Delete Itinerary up they all pop day1 dayb2 day3 etc

But I don't want to fucki## delete them

Try going to add new itinerary it will ask you if you you want to delete the original itinerary to be able to add the new itinerary but it should keep the original itinerary in your files hope you can follow this !!

You must be looking at a different one to the one we downloaded here! I have it because most people have never looked at one and then complain about the device. The one I have does explain the process

Find the itinerary planning icon, press that. If it already has an itinerary in memory it will ask you if you want to delete it. Say yes ( the route remains stored on the device) and then from " options" select "load itinerary" and then "done". Make sure you are at the start of the route and the device has found the satellites BEFORE you try to activate the route. This is because for some bizarre reason TomToms revert to you home location when switched off. If you try before it has found a fix it will try to calculate the route from your home address ( or in your case your mate's address)

Guess what ..... I have done it

The problem was ,when asked to delete iI thought NO I don't want to delete I want to save
So I have done as you say and BINGO

Now then
We are going for 15 days .. do you think I will be able to load them all on to the TT standard card , or will I run out of storage space

Welcome to the illogical world of Sat Navs!

The itn files for TomTom are very small so I don't think you will have a problem.

Do take some time to find out how to navigate somewhere just in case there are any problems on your trip. It sounds like you have your stops planned so learn how to navigate to the daily destination if something goes wrong on the route. For instance, a common problem we see is people overestimating daily mileages. Being able to simply stop the planned route and navigate direct to the next hotel/campsite can come in very handy-twisty roads are wonderful but when you are tired and just want to get there an alternative, faster route is often better (and safer)

If you understand a little of how the device works you will have a lot less stressful trip.
