Thinking about buying a rider, does anyone know how to get it to operate using a speaker (for in car use) instead of the supplied earpiece.
Thanks in advance, Ron.

Speakers

There is no way of getting audio out of the Rider except via the Bluetooth receiver.

I have made up a lead to connect the Bluetooth to my Autocom (now available from Autocom) so I guess it would also power a small speaker - but may need some amplification.

Although I think the Rider is a great GPS it is let down by Bluetooth (which needs regular charging and can't be powered up while charging) to the extent that I am changing to Garmin for no other reason except they have a proper audio out I can connect electric string to.

Might mean a new intercom..........

Starcom do a bluetooth module that links to their intercom - you might be able to use that.

Else if you search the web for bluetooth handsfree kits that clip to car sun visors - they use large speakers.

Hi
hope this is in line with the thread but I have been trying to establish if the tom tom rider will work with the bmw bluetooth helmet can anyone help ?

Garmin

After taking all into acount I went down the route of a second hand 2610 of "e" bay, fitting was a doddle and cost £250 by time I had bought the motorcycle fitting kit, as against £500 for a rider plus a blutooth speaker, as you say cant beat electric string for the earpiece. :D

I have not tried but it should not be a problem. The Rider is happy to pair with my Motorola Bluetooth earpiece and my wife's Trust Bluetooth car handsfree.

thanks for that, I note that the bluetooth code for the helmet and the tt rider are the same so they should pair but I am not an expert.
