TomTom Rider 2 not starting

My TT Rider 2 has stopped working.

When I turn it on, I get the TomTom splash screen, followed by the screen with a yellow background with a picture of the TTR2. There is progress bar at the bottom of the screen which moves from left to right and it stops when it gets half way across the screen. I then get an animation which shows the flap at the bottom of the TTR2 opening, the memory card coming out and a big red cross appears over the memory card.

I have tried a different memory card - no difference.

I have tried the reset button - still no joy.

I can connect the TTR2 to my PC/Mac and update the memory card.

Any suggestions please?

I have got it going again. I used TomTom Home to restore an old backup (over a year old) onto a new memory card and then ran an update. I had to use a card reader as the TTR2 wouldn't connect to the PC/Mac.

From now on I will take backups more frequently.
