Glad to report after a month of testing with my R1200gsa it works with the BMW Canbus connector, switches on with key and after the short delay off when the Canbus shuts down after key off :) very happy

That took you a month of testing? :D

- Which mount are you using? The RAM mount supplied?
I got a Touratech mount which replaced the previous Touratech Garmin 660 mount. - It was the much better made updated locking one, but this Touratech mount is of the same type as the original 660 Touratech mount I had. It worked ok on the GSA but that type made for the Rider was incredibly wobbly.
It's currently using two solid nylon mounts and two original Touratech mounts which is far better than 'as supplied' but I can see a Wunderlich mount being bought in the future. The Touratech mount as supplied is so wobbly you cant read the map!

I'm using the touratech but with long coach bolts so attached to the BMW top bar.. See photo

Right! I'm using the same mount but on the Touratech 'arms' and crossbar which allow it to be higher and closer. It worked fine with the Zumo 660 on the same location but the Rider must be heavier I guess, allowing it to wobble a lot.

re wobble, I mounted my V5 on a BMW GSA mount (type with the clamping arm for quick release) and it is solid. The quick release arm can be replaced with a nut/bolt for security.

Here's the Touratech mount on the Touratech 'arms'. Replacing half the rubber mounts with nylon standoffs tightens things up. The Wunderlich mount is much more physically intrusive and doesn't have rubber mounts. For the Garmin 660 Touratech have this style of mount which worked ok but their more substantial and expensive mount was ace on the 660. The mounting style of the TomTom means they can't do similar on the Rider I expect, but it's a poor solution in this location.
