TomTom Rider Map Question

A bit of advice needed please.
My mate has just bought a TomTom Rider kit off ebay. It has been loaded with USA maps so obviously it is no good to us at the moment.
Does anyone know if this uses standard TomTom maps or does it need special maps designed for TomTom Rider?

hello mate,

I've got a tomtom rider, as far as im aware he'll need tomtom software....... do a google search and see what comes back, maybe lucky!?

If he does need need tomtom software take a look at totalpda.co.uk thats where my tomtom came from, their very helpfull, seemed to know what they were talking about and the rider unit was around £80 less from them!

For the record the RIDER uses Navteq/TomTom map data. This is unique as all other TomTom's use TeleAtlas Map Data.
