tomtom rider2 charging - not!

Help! had longish trip yesterday and suprised when TT went flat, had a quick look today, have 12v at socket, 12v at end of lead where goes into "dock" - but only 5v at LH only pin. Is this correct? tried search for spec on charge input volts but being a numpty not found one, any ideas before radical dismantle!

Yes the unit is meant to be outputting 5v, there is a transformer in the dock
