Hi Guys & Gals,
I need to make up a tool kit for under the seat of my 2001 R1150GS,
Can anyone please tell me what is in the original one? and also what essential add-ons I need

Many thanks and have a wonderful Christmas
Michael

this was going to be my next question, no toolkit with my bike and one of those tool trays wont fit, is there meant to be a tool roll which fits in the tie under the seat ?

If it has a single seat (GSA) then it only came with a tool roll . But if it had the separate rider/pillion seats then there should be a till tray under the pillion seat...

7mm allen key and hammer and 2 small cold chisels, that and the original kit will let you change the final drive bevel bearing and seal DAMHIK :P

Thanks for the ebay link, problem is I want to upgrade from the original, that's why I need a list of the sizes and what's in it.
Thanks Kennyc

If you look on Jim Von Badens web site he has put together a list for a 1200 - should be fairly similar.

I had a think about what I was happy to attempt at the side of the road, where I would be travelling and what roadside recovery cover I had and put together my own set of tools.

I have enough tools to remove both wheels, remove various sensors and that's about it. I don't have tools to strip the FD for example - as if it's that bad my recovery will cover that.

HTH

Here's a picture of the kit from the newer lc models (actually this is probably of more use than what is really supplied)

FFS, your not supposed to fix these machines yourself at the side of the road! this is a precision instrument, not some old nail!

Why would you need an adjustable spanner when you have a perfectly good stilson wrench?
