So where do you hide the tools on your bike, apart from the standard tool box.
e.g. I've heard that putting a smaller battery in the R100GS frees up space to store a small compressor.

I can get a bit more than a compressor, (currently a Sparrow Airman), in mine.
It holds about 7ltr, so it also houses the Autocom box, Heat Troller, Garry H's bead breaker as well as spanners and other bits and bobs.

Made a plug out of polyurethane foam, cut and shaped to fill the hole, then cut another cm off all round for clearance and covered it in glass mat & resin.

After the "box" was made, I cling filmed the frame, battery, mudguard etc and layered up the matting for the lip while the box was in place.

Its the MK1 so not very pretty, but it works really well and not much water gets in. Drain holes at the bottom. I added a piece of rubber mat to the back of the box and fix the mudguard to it with a wing-nut... There was a bit of rubbing going on there.

Interesting idea, My battery , an oddysey is fitted the other way round though, fore and aft. I have wedged it in with a block of wood but this does seem to be a good way of filling the space.. well done
