I stupidly did not check under the seat of my 2003 Dakar when I bought it to see if the toolkit was there and of course, it is not and the previous owner's Son, (owner deceased) has no idea where it might be now. So, not being able to post in the Wanted section, I would like to know where I might be able to buy the Original BMW kit and how much it is likely to cost?

I guess that I could make up my own toolkit if I cannot find an original.

MODs - I apologise if it seems I am 'skirting' around the rules of posting wanted, but at this moment, it is just a general inquiry. Thanks for your understanding.

Ps. do you experienced riders find that the toolkit is sufficient or do you add other bits that are useful? Many thanks.

The tool kit is fairly basic, and can cope with getting the plastic panels off to get to various components, and change a fuse or two.

The fact that it fits into a small place under the seat, means that it is always available.

However, if you are the sort of person who likes to roll up your sleeves and fix things, rather than carry a credit and AA/RAC card, a selection of your own quality tools may be a better investment. Just a matter of selecting the right ones.
