Top Box again.

Had my first top box replaced under warranty (on a Sept 04 R1200GS) due to it slopping around on the base plate. That was about 14 months ago. Well after a run up to the North East last weekend in the snow I was washing the bike down when I got home and found the top box cracked near the latching mechanism. Contacted the dealer. BMW have agreed to replace it again as a goodwill. Only this time they say a new improved box and matching base plate are used so will have to pay for the labour to replace. Which I think is good of them.
Anyone else got the new improved type? Is it better? Stronger?

Good of them !! Its there problem and they want you to pay the labour?

Suggest you collect the parts and do it yourself its not a hard or particular technical job.

Because it is a goodwill claim out of warranty they will not just hand it over for me to do. So I either pay the labour or loose the chance of the replacement box and base plate?
