Top box lock cylinder removal

Any one know how to remove lock cyclinder ?
Bought a top BMW top box on eBay will original cyclinder still in it,want to remove it to recyclinder to match bike key .dealer said not possible?

If you don't have the key to fit the lock in the cylinder it's not going to be easy.

If the box is unlocked, then it should be possible. That's a good article from Mr T

Are we talking vario or ally t/box?

What a faff, if you have the vario box. It took about 5 seconds to remove both locks from my GSA box the other day.

Nutty is right, very easily removed from the vario's whether the lock is locked or unlocked providing that the box lid can opened. you don't need the original key.
