I was looking for a very small and lightweight laptop to carry with me to Morocco. I was looking at a second hand Toshiba Libretto 110ct.

Anyone has any experience with these machines on a bike (rugged enough?). The only thing I would like it to run is mapsource (connect with my gps), some kind of text editor and view/select/store some pictures.

Any advice anyone? Is this a valid solution?

Tnx all

OK but ...

I was thinking of something similar having used a Libretto for presentations. However do remember that the Libretto does not have USB ports (and I don't think you can add them via a PCMCIA card because it's 16bit and USB is 32 bit) and you will have to get a CD drive as well to load Mapsource.

If you do get one, please let me know how you get on.

Cheers

Not sure about the ports available as it was a long time ago, but I do remember it ran Windows 98 Lite ever so well :)

according to various specialized sites USB 2.0 via PCMCIA is possible. I checked it out.
