Hello all

I have just got from my sister her old laptop, works absolutely fine.

But what i would like to know is, can i do much to this to speed it up and increase capacity without it costing the earth?

I generally only use my computers for the internet, the odd letter and photo storage. No games though.

OS Win 98
Hard drive 10GB

Laptops are notoriously difficult to upgrade, you might be able to find some memory for it. I would check on ebay or have a look here http://www.kingston.com/ and you can use a tool on the website to find the part numbers of the memory your laptop uses.

You can upgrade the hard drive but I would seriously think if you need the additional space? Its doubtful but if you are a major digital photo nut you will need some big space on there.

Processor replacement is not impossible but impractical.

I would concentrate on RAM and maybe your HDD.
