Can any of you lot recommend a simple single side end can that does away with the the twin-can & CAT setup for the '04 2-spark Dakar?

Remus only seem to do twin can.

Lazer arent stocked.

Is there another quality can for the Dakar?

check out earlier threads. Staintune do an exellent single silencer. I've run mine for 20 000 miles no troubles (and no arrests!).

loads of exhaust talk on the 650 forum http://www.f650.co.uk/ but I could only see Remus (twin like mine and lervvli) or Arrow. Otherwise try the Chaingang site http://faq.f650.com/GSMainIndex/GSExhaustAssembly.htm

To be honest, unless you're really, really stuck on the single can, then I would recommend the Remus - mine cost me just short of £400 but it's brilliant. Not as loud as the Staintune, but then it IS road legal - loads of extra mid-range grunt, sprints to 3 figures, sounds great, the finish is much better than the standard BM cans, etc, etc.

my main reason for changing is to lose the CAT and the weight and secondary to this is to unclutter the arse end.

If the remus is considerably lighter then i may go for it. Did you find it lighter?

Beware,

The '04 model has a larger diameter header than the old models and all the manufacturers need to bring out new connector pipes to suit. At this moment, none have done so. Remus are working on it, Laser haven't yet. Carbon Can Co. will when thay have moved into their new premises.
