I know that people suggest Hammerite smooth but these days you can usually get aerosols of paint made up to match the existing colour precisely. Has anyone done this with the rocker box covers on a GS and if so how well did it work?

After the fist weekend on my brand new 1200, I noticed a large stone chip on the front of one of the rocker covers.
When I asked Vines for the paint code, they didn't know what it was, but managed to get their paint chap to mix up a little pot. It's good for the odd chip here and there.
I'm not sure if they could make a spray can up though.
