Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the relative merits of the above helmets.

Currently using a Tour-X which is probably due for replacement.
I like the Tour-X, except for the visor misting in anything approaching dampness, never mind actual rain .

Tried on an Arai Astro Race which felt fine, supposed to be good and quiet ( and has a lovely saltire paint job......)

Lots of guys had Schuberth flip ups at the off road ride out.
Useful when approaching strangers to ask if they've seen the rest of our party.

Decisions, decisions.

Just had an e-mail from my local dealer about the new System 5/HP2 enduro helmet...

"The Enduro Helmet

The modern even futuristic design and structure of the helmet will offer the highest possible degree of protection. Using a lightweight laminate construction of fibreglass, carbon and KEVLAR® the helmet is exceptionally well reinforced with high tensile strength and excellent crush resistance.

Particular attention has been paid to the Enduro's aerodynamics. With or without a peak the helmet has outstanding aerodynamic characteristics that minimise noise and reduce buffeting. The Enduro Helmet will be available in three configurations to suit a rider's personal preference - with peak and visor; without peak and with visor; or with peak and without visor. While a UK price has yet to be announced. The RRP is expected to be £255. "

Wot's the effing use of the thing? Nice vest though!

got both arai astro r schwant and tour x both cracking lids but when i waer my astro now i find it so restrictive compared to tour x, but it is much quieter and has the benefit of a fog city shield so i wear tourx in spring summer and astro in winter and pissing rain

If you are looking at an Arai Astro you should check out the Shoei XR-1000, I tried sh*tloads of different lids before I bought one and I love it. I went against the advice on here and wasted my money on a Sportintegral (which leaked and wouldn't demist at all), I wouldn't touch Schuberth helmets again, poor finish quality in comparison and they are not fit for purpose.
