I know tread lifts on the front , but I have never ever seen it lift so bad. Still at least 3mm of tread depth. Rubber cracking and perished in the treads. 6 months old with about 6k on it.

Has this happens to anyone else?

I should add, i ride the hell out of my bike and break hard into corners , but not trackday hard. I expect a bit more from a Metz ..

Usually I get each tread block wearing more on trailing edges.
My last set (TKC-70) wore alternately like yours seem to be.

I replaced the front shock around same time as Conti Trail Attack 2s were fitted. Tread wear seems more normal.

How old is your front shock?

It's strange though. I fitted some low miles GS shocks to the GSA. My front end feels a bit stiffer than before but the grip feels unchanged.

The back shock was shot so that end is clearly better than before.

I replaced mine with a fresher 08 gs shock. The difference over bumps is remarkable. Only cost 30 quid on ebay.

It very likly the bad shock caused the weird wear.

I would recommend The Michelin Anakee 3... really fast tyre both dry and wet, had a great result with them.

They're even pretty decent on dry offroad (dirt/gravel).

Cheers,
Rami

I did here reports of them not lasting long though.

I have a Metz Tourance on the rear. The regular type not the next. It heats up really well and has never given me a fright (yet). I might match the front . They are also cheap.

My Conti Trail Attacks have lasted ok. The front looks fit for 1-1/2 rears but will probably change with the rear. The back has worn more down the middle than I like (far too much motorway) but it's not fallen off the handling cliff like my last set of Road Attack 1s did (different bike). BTW, chicken strips? What are chicken strips! Which says it all really. :D

I might try some Scout K60s next time. I don't need the off-road grip, but once bedded in they are reputed to last for ever which would be great with my motorway habit.
