There is a guy near me [sandbach] who fits them for £140 ish [no more than £150], I can't remember the exact price, he is a bit of BMW 'specialist' and does a good job, right down to torqueing up the bolts to the proper spec

I rung round everybody here today nobody has stock and there is supposed to be a shortage of Tourances at the moment. Cheapest I could get is £175 fitted but they can't fit me in on the day that I want. I just happen to be riding up to Cheshire on Friday for a weekend of hooning around North Wales so I can get the tyres supplied & fitted by Steve. (And hopefully scrubbed in before I hit the twisty stuff)

Steve Platt in Sandbach - £146 fitted.

I had the tyres fitted by Steve on Friday. Very impressive service. He hadn't done a 2003 GS before so he popped into his local dealer the day before to get the details. He had all the right torque settings (for example - change to 2003 model - front calipers only 20nm compared with rear caliper 30nm). He also made sure not to prise the pads open as the blowback of fluid can seriously screw up the servo system on the 2003 models.

Ride in to ride out took just over 90 minutes. It could have been much shorter if we didn't have such a good chat or if his wife hadn't made me a cup of tea. Great service.

bought a pair last week (had to - I've seen more rubber on a marigold glove than on my rear tyre). The price is now £138.50 including next day delivery. Fitted by my dealer for £11.75 incl balance, valve etc - total £140.25 plus a pint of Fosters when we meet!
