I don't know whether it's just me but after I fitted a set of Tourances to replace the worn out D607's I've found that the front end seems a lot more 'flighty' and nervous. Does any one else have the same feelings or am I just being paranoid??

Yep I have had a pair of Tourances fitted at the weekend and put it down to my riding but now that you mention it it does feel loose..We maybe both paranoid--I bought the bike with Dunlops which were ok but only got 5.4k out of them.

I went from Tourances to Dunlops and thought that the Dunlops were an improvement, though I put it down to the usual problem of comparing the old knackered set with the new round set :) I managed 5500 out of the the rear dunlop; through the front is doing fine.

I know Tourances are well loved round here, but I do rate the Dunlops as the better tyre. However if the battlewings are as good as expected then they could be the future.

Seriously, it'll soon wear off. This has been commented on previously - I've done a quick search but couldn't find it - you may have more time to look properly.

When I fitted my Tourances, frankly for the first day or so I thought I'd made a biiig mistake - the front just didn't feel secure, in fact it was bloody frightening and inspired no confidence at all. In passing, I was talking to my brother (Gwent Police motorcyclist) who said that they regularly wash down new tyres with hot soapy water (to get rid of the wax on them) and then scrub them with a wire brush. :eek Give them a good wash with plenty of soapy water and be careful for the next few days. Mine felt a lot better just after the wash. Pity I can't find the previous thread, but it seems a common concern. :thumb

I've had mine on for a week and was surprised this morning how much grip they gave. I'd gone from bright sunshine to shade under trees and discovered that the road I was on came to a T junction rather more quickly than I remembered.

I yanked on the brakes from about 65 immediatetly feeling that I'd overshoot the junction and discover I was about to become an ornament on someone's bonnet.

The ABS and the Tourances did a great job without squirmming and the front end felt rock solid. :thumb

When I got a new set on last week the tyre guy put the front wheel on to the machine bench and sanded it down with sand/emery paper before he put it on the bike

There must be something in it. He didn't touch the back tyre.

I had a set fitted today as I picked up a double puncture whist riding over in England (Yorkie Dales) and scraped my 850 miles old rear Dunlop. :spitfire I spent this afternoon running them in and to be honest, didn't notice anything untoward with the handling of the GS. They were dearer than the new Bridgestones' (£179.50 /£159), but I went with the Tourances due to all the good feedback from here.

Ditto: i liked the dunlops much better for road use. Mind i only have 6500 miles on mine so i am still a learner GSer. But i like it.

I'm still trying to wear out my Anakees, 8200mls so far and still about 1.5mm left before I get to the wear bars. I recon I'll get about 9000 'maybe more' out of them and them possibly chainge them for Torences.

Is there anyone who has got this kind of milage from Anakees and then fitted torences? Do the Torences really get better milage than the Anakees?
I did read some where on here that someone was getting 12000 from the Torences, hence my reason for considering the change.

Getting back on subject, I noticed that the Anakees make the front seem very light at first, I thought I just got used to it, :nenau put it down to the wide bars and that the engine is mounted a little futher back than the 1150's.
It does feel a little heavy at the rear. But maybe it's because I like a slightly softer ride 'can't be doing with all the bumps these days'.

I was told that Dunlop had stopped making 607's, but Conti are doing a road attack in the correct sizes so I might give them a go.

Had 4 sets of 607's and obviously was pleased with them . Have had new Bridgestone Battle Wings on for around 150 twisty miles and am surprised to say I significantly prefer them . More confidence at toe slider scraping lean angles , bike tips in more smoothly. V. pleased .

I can't compare the two never having had an Anakee on the 12, but I got just over 10k (including 2 track days) out of my last rear Tourance. 95% of my riding is commuting on A-roads, motorways and B-roads. This longevity did surprise me having had 6k out of the previous Trailwing.

Great stability in the wet and cold seasons is important for me and the Tourance delivers in this respect as well as easily allowing the undercarriage to scrape on the track!
