Touratech 1100GS Light Kits

Hi all,

I've just been looking at all those lovely TT goodies and was wondering if any of the light kits are worth buying. I am in the process of fitting some Hellas.........

The ones I've seen are...Twin Headlights BMW R 850/1100 GS and Twin Headlight/DE projector headlights BMW R 850/1100 GS

Are they suitable for Right hand drive vehicles?.

Best bet is to PM Richie. He has twin lights on his 1100GS. I reckon he'll tell you all you need to know about them.
Hes a really nice guy too (as he has Irish genes )

I don't think they are available for the UK. I think they are only European dipped. I have the twin TT ones on my 1100. As far as lighting patterns go I can't say theyare really better or worse than standard, in fact I'd guess worse because the square standard headlamp on the 1100 isn't too bad whereas the TT units are quite small and only take the same wattage bulb......but they look cool
When you get your Hellas be careful to buy the driving lamps not the fogs lamps - there is quite a difference in the beam pattern then contact MiGSel for a light bar which bolts in very snug under the beak beneath the oil cooler.

A far as I know they are only for rhd bikes. I am happy with them as they are a bit better than the originals and I reckon they look a lot better too.
However imho I would have been better off spending the money on some hellas for example.

How is the spray job on that plastic tank?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll stay with the double hellas, and see how good they are before spending any more dosh then.

Tank should be going over to sheffield with me on Sunday to be left for spraying......whilst I drool over the 1200 MMMMMMmmmmmmmmm
